Why I do what I do...

My full time job is a Montessori preschool teacher to 24 amazing little human beings. When I'm away from them I enjoy doing other things I love like photography or traveling the globe with my loved ones or doing yoga even though I'm the most inflexible person you'll ever meet.

Please continue to stop by and leave comments - I absolutely love reading them!

Other things I LOVE:

Dogs, especially my own.                Walking in puddles with my rain boots.     Candy.                My husband.        Converses.         Rain.       Black coffee.        Peace sign.           The smell of the air at 7am in September.          Elephant seals.           Red Skittles.         Dancing...everywhere.      Wedding dresses.           Weddings.        Babies' gummy smiles.        Peonies.        The sound of my email alert.          Rap.            Lavendar scented linen spray.         Science experiments.             Family.        Friends.        Me.

Good Friday

Religion is a touchy issue for many, and I don’t really want to step on anyone’s toes by discussing it in too much depth. However, today is Good Friday, and instead of pretending today is just any other Friday for me, I commemorate it as the day Jesus was crucified on the cross.

I still find myself asking many questions time to time, like how? how is it possible that there is a God if [fill in the blank] happens? why me? why them? But my heart knows there is a God. Now don’t laugh when I tell you this, but sometimes I look at my husband and think to myself, “God has to exist because I prayed for a best friend for life who can love me as much as I love him and who is kind, gentle, sweet, and smart…and not too bad to look at either.” I’m serious! I was too afraid to pray for a husband because I think that’s just weird in the 21st century, but a best friend? Everyone wants a best friend, right? Best friends are just that, they are the best at everything that has to do with what it takes to be a friend. It’s just a bonus that my best friend asked me to marry him. :-)

So to all who believe or don’t believe there is a God or a some kind of being greater than ourselves, have a Good Friday. It’s raining again, and it’s beautiful.

Here are some photos I took with a roll of Fujifilm 400H. I know, I know, cherry blossoms are so cliche to photograph, but it’s only because they’re so awesome.

April 5, 2010 - 1:53 pm Marielle Hayes - These photographs are gorgeous, Connie! I love the blossoms! And I don't think it's weird that you prayed for what you prayed for. I did the same thing! Except in my prayers I asked for a best friend, someone who was attractive & someone who was good at Math. I know, kind of a weird combo but that's what God gave me! I don't think it ever hurt anyone to be specific about what they want! Anyway, fabulous photographs & happy (belated) Easter! xoxo
